Sarah's Journey aka Cancer Sucks!

As everyone knows Cancer Sucks!!  On November 21 2017 my dear friend Sarah was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer right before Thanksgiving.  Since day one she has faced this new reality with strength and determination.   She started her chemo sessions on January 4th and the night before her first treatment she said with so much positivity that “this is my new journey.  My 2018 experience. I am thankful for everyone being there for me, I am thankful for the great team of doctors I have and I am very thankful for the new support team I have.  I’m going to be okay.” And although she has had some trials here and there with sickness and lab levels being off I am so proud of how she powered through her treatments and all that come with them. Although, in mid-February Sarah was declared almost cancer free (which was the best news ever!!!), she will still face surgery and radiation treatments.  

As I mentioned before we all know Cancer Sucks!  And not just for the physical and emotional toll it takes on the person afflicted but on the family as well.  Another harsh reality of cancer is the monetary cost of treatment. Even with insurance the out of pocket cost can add up quickly and be overwhelming.   With all the doctor’s appointments, treatment sessions and surgeries the bills are piling up. This is the reason for setting up this page. A monetary donation would help relieve so much worry and stress for the family as Sarah goes forward with the rest of her journey.
