Help Families Affected By Harvey!

Between the evening of Saturday August 26th and the Morning of Wednesday August 30th Hurricane Harvey dropped 47 inches of rain on my hometown. To put that in perspective our average yearly rainfall is 50 inches. The aftermath has been devastating as so many of our friends, family, neighbors, and loved ones founds themselves escaping rising flood waters and losing everything they own in the process. Despite the difficult and heartbreaking circumstances so many from our community and from afar have come together to save lives, provide shelter, and do what needs to be done to help.

My sister and I have decided to put together a GoFundMe to help the families of friends of ours who were not as fortunate as us. I have been contacted by several friends from coast to coast asking how they can help and this seems to be the best way.

All funds raised will go directly to our friends who have families with young children who lost everything in this devastating flood. We feel that it’s best that we provide these families with money that will allow them some relief and assistance and help them to get back on their feet as they begin the process to rebuild their homes and lives. Rather it’s to help with upcoming deductibles, replenishing lost furniture and necessities or taking their children to see a movie to provide some sense of normalcy for their young children.
