About Us
SEALNet Project  Philippines 2020: Breaking the Stigma on Mental Health; is a two-week project conducted in Baguio City from December 12-23, 2020.
Our vision is to empower university students in Baguio city to break mental health stigma altogether through mental health advocacy from themselves to their communities.
Our mission is to build awareness of suicide prevention among university students in Baguio, empower them with the spirit of being a servant leader, and instill them with advocacy mindset of ‘changes start from YOU’.
The objective of our project is to address the issue of mental health stigma by focusing on suicide prevention awareness for youths who may have gone through mental health problems or attempted suicide, have friends or family that are affected by that, and those who aim to advocate for it.

Who are the beneficiaries?
- Students in two local universities in Baguio City: are youths aged between 16-20 who are vulnerable to be affected by mental health issues & suicide tendencies.
- Local Mentees: who are based in Baguio city aged between 16-23 years old or senior high school to college students. This project aims to get all local people for being a mentee in order to effectively carry our sustainability.
initiatives in their own community. In order to reach the expected number of local mentees,
- Mentors: mentors will be both local and non-local university students from all over the world who are passionate in service leadership and mental health advocacy.

Why should you donate?"Every 40 seconds, one person dies of suicide,"- World Health Organization. In the Philippines alone, an alarming 7 Filipinos choose to take their lives each day (CNN, 2019). According to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, there was a recorded number of 112 suicide attempts within the span of 10 months from 2015 to 2016.

Therefore, our mission will not be pushed forth without your generous support to tackle this alarming issue by reducing the stigma on mental health and raising suicide prevention awareness in Baguio City.

Where will your donation go?

10% of your donation will contribute to the 3 days- mentor training that will be equipping the 10 local and international mentors with leadership and project management skills as well as Mental health awareness and suicide prevention. 87% will go to the one-week of mentee training in which they will be immersed with advocacy building training, leadership skills training, Mental health awareness, and suicide prevention. The remaining budget will be prepared for the 2 days of the community workshop in 2 universities in Baguio.  Hence, all of your donations play a big role to reduce stigma on mental health and the suicide rates among youths in Baguio City as well as build future servant leaders in Southeast Asia.
