SUFFOLK COUNTY SPCA DETECTIVES CHARGE A NESCONSET WOMAN WITH 9 COUNTS OF ANIMAL CRUELTY
Suffolk County SPCA Detectives have charged a Nesconset woman with 9 counts of Animal Cruelty on June 30, 2017. Vanessa Costello, 29 of Nesconset, NY was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty for failure to provide proper sustenance including veterinary care. The horses were being boarded in Bohemia. Many were suffering from health issues and were emaciated.
Costello is to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on August 31, 2017.
The 9 horses are presently being cared for at a local stable and are receiving the care they need.
Contributions for feed and veterinary care are much needed. Please help them by donating to Suffolk County S.P.C.A. today. All proceeds will go to the equine rescue fund to support the care of these 9 horses in need.

We are raising funds for our Equine Rescue Fund to assist in the care of these horses as a result of a recent arrest by our Agency Officers.
The horses are in poor condition and require medical veterinary care along with food and boarding while they are treated and rehabilitated.
The Suffolk County SPCA is supported solely by contributions and donation., We receive no Local, State or Federal Funding.
The Agency is staffed solely by volunteers with the exception of one paid secretary.
The Suffolk County SPCA receives approximately 40,000 calls and investigates over 3000 cases annually.
The Agency has approximately 60 volunteers, about 25 of which are sworn Law Enforcement Officers.
