SCH India House Mom

Dear Friends and Family,

As many of you know, I spent the month of January in India serving at an organization called Sarah’s Covenant Homes. SCH is a community of family-style foster homes that provides holistic care for children and young adults with disabilities. The organization was created in response to the high abandonment rate of children with disabilities in India due to social stigma and poverty. SCH is a place that believes every child is worthy and deserving of love. A place that believes every child belongs in a family that they can call their very own. Through my month of being in India I came to know these children, their stories, their hearts.  I learned their names, held their hands, experienced joy and sadness with them. I fell in love with these little Indian babies and realized God was telling me to go back before I even left.

Through God’s grace and provisions I will be returning to India for a year commitment in May. I will be stepping into the role of house parent in one of the houses at SCH, a role similar to a foster parent here in the states. My main desire for this upcoming year is to love these children deeply, to watch them grow and thrive, to advocate for their need for forever families, to share laughs, smiles, and tears. I will be the house parent for 10 or more children, growing with them in what it means to be sons and daughters while I learn what it means to be mother.

All foster parents at SCH are volunteers and SCH is fully funded by donations. For this reason I need to raise $12,000 in order to cover my needs for my year in India. This amount covers my housing, food, flights, medical insurance, and money for the children that will be in my care. It will cover day-to-day needs for the kids; it will cover the inevitable doctor’s appointments, trips for ice cream, and so much more. I ask that you will prayerfully consider making a one-time donation to my goal of $12,000.

Whether you are in a place to help support me financially or not, your prayers are so necessary and appreciated. Prayers for the children that will be in my care: prayers for their growth, for their health, for forever families. Prayers for my physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Prayers that God will equip me, in ways that I would never have even imagined, to care for these children.

Thank you so much for your support!
