Ishara, Brooke and South Africa

"It takes a village to raise a child so that the child may raise the village."

The girls are seniors at The Crefeld School in Northwest Philadelphia. This year the school has begun an exchange program to South Africa. This is a sudden but exciting opportunity for Ishara and Brooke. The cost is unexpected, as this trip was not on the schedule last year, and because of that, there are no scholarship funds to be offered by the school this time. Nevertheless, they are determined to go, so, let us determine to help them. Let us be the village. The girls have sown into others through volunteer work and community building, not simply following in their mothers' footsteps, but forging their own paths. Let us in turn raise these children and support their development through the exposure an international learning experience would provide, so that they may return to raise the village. If excess funds are raised they will be contributed to a scholarship fund so that other children will be able to participate next year.
