Ryder's Chance

My name is Ami, I am a single mother of two.  My youngest is a healthy 3-month old baby girl named Lillian. My oldest, Ryder is a wonderful 4 year old little boy. He was recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. He needs to attend a Special Needs Private School that will be starting August 2014. The school itself is  $10,000 per year to attend.  I am hoping that I can raise enough money to at least get him through one year of this school.  Ryder needs to take in as much information at this crucial time while his brain is developing the most rapidly. He is behind for his age level and only says a handful of words. I want nothing more than to be able to communicate with my son. The most important thing is for him to be able to handle day to day activities. I want him to have friends, and be able to interact with his peers. As they say, he is "in a different world than we are". He needs to go to this school so they can teach him to learn basic skills in a way he can understand. ..and hopefully be able to attend regular school later in life with minimal help. He will go through lots of therapies and training this upcoming school year. I am thankful for my Lil guy everyday...I cannot wait until the day he can look at me and say, "I love you, mom"
