Helping Baby Ryder Kines

It has been confirmed that Ryder has a large blood clot inside of his brain. He also has a bacterial infection in his brain and in his blood. The only way they can treat the clot is to give him a blood thinner so the clot doesn't get any larger. The hope is that it eventually absorbs itself into the body, but only Ryder can make that happen. He is still entirely on life support in order to control his breathing and his blood pressure. One of the major problems is that he is still completely unresponsive and the doctors are not controlling that. It is something they are trying to figure out. They believe that it could be due to significant swelling in the brain and are hoping to treat it with antibiotics. A blood transfusion was given to bring up his platelet levels as well. Unfortunately, we are stuck waiting. The clot could take days or weeks to dissolve and it looks like he could be at Dallas Children's Hospital a very long time. As you can see, this will cause a significant financial burden on the family. Their home is located 100 miles (one way) or more away from the hospital. Ryder's dad, David has to return to work and will be traveling to and from the hospital. His family will also be traveling the 100 miles (one way) or so to visit and be there for support. Ryder's mom, Cristi will HOPEFULLY be staying in Dallas at the Ronald McDonald House. If she is unable to stay there, she will have to get a hotel.
