Fundraise for Roberto Vento&Family
I created this fund to help the most lovable and generous man I know, my father Cosimo Roberto Vento.
My father grew up believing love is all and his fierce optimism and joy for life are imprinted in the essence of his poems. All who know him are touched by his works and his love. He always tells me, nothing is impossible.
Now, he needs our support.
Two years ago, my father had a heart attack and with that, several other health issues arose. Since then, he hasn’t been able to put the same amount of energy into our family’s restaurant, Il Turista.
Bills increased, business dropped, and he used all his savings to pay the mortgage. My salary alone cannot sustain my family and pay the mortgage. I have done everything possible. I even tried helping him sell the business or find a partner but to no avail.
If we don’t pay €130,000.00 (US $160,500.00), the bank will take our family business and my family will be left with nothing.
My father is very proud and would not ask for help himself, but this is a desperate situation.
I am pouring my heart out to you because I am terribly concerned about his health and how this situation could negatively affect him and cause his condition to become worse.
I made the decision to ask for help when I realized he was no longer taking his pills, saying he did not need them. That fact was, he had to make a choice… either pay for his medication (which is extremely expensive) or pay the bank. No one should be put into a situation like this.
My father worked all his life, since age 14, together with my mom and they are the greatest couple and team I know. My dad made a living by singing (his greatest passion), working in hotels in Switzerland ("Club
Hotel" in Lugano), he was also a stockbroker and owned several businesses: two video stores, "VCR" in College Point NY and "New York Video" in Porlezza (Como)Italy and two restaurants, "Caffé My Way" (nominated The Best in Queens!) in College Point NY and "Il Turista" in Gubbio Italy, working in this last restaurant in Gubbio since 2004.
He is a writer and a very spiritual person.
Everyone who knows us, knows we are honest, hardworking, and wonderful people.
