Roosevelt Leadership Academy needs to raise approximately $10,000 dollars to help support our capstone trip to Washington, D.C. in March 2014.
Simply put, Roosevelt Leadership Academy is a way of serving our community by preparing our students to be leaders in their community. Roosevelt Middle School is on the south side of Oklahoma City serving a largely hispanic community with 99% of students receiving free or reduced lunch.
Despite the challenges that our community faces, the Students at Roosevelt Middle School are poised to make a positive impact on their community by becoming leaders. Roosevelt Leadership Academy prepares it's members by exposing them to all levels of government; from School Board meetings to City Council all the way to the highest levels of Government in Washington, D.C.
Our program started during the 2013 school year and already we have seen the RLA make a huge impact on our students and community. The Roosevelt Leadership Academy was established in the hope that our program will have a lasting impact that will follow our leaders through middle school, high school and beyond.
We are students. We are leaders. We are Roosevelt.
