Ron Teter Relocation & Cancer Fund

For those of you that know my Dad Ron Teter, he is a very loving Dad, Husband, and a very hard worker.

He was laid off from a company here in WA that he had been working at for 23 years and took a job in Sun Valley CA 3 years ago. He and his wife Debbie knew nothing about CA but had to do what was best to provide for their family as they had fostered and adopted 2 lovely kids with special needs. After being down in So Cal for 2 years he was laid off once again and stuck in California with his wife, and two beautiful kids. He has been working on and off for a start-up company in hoping for it to grow into fulltime but it wasn't consistent enough money to stay in LA and to make ends meet and support his wife and two kids as the kids need Debbie's full attention as Debbie even volunteers at the school to help out with the two kids (They are Both Autistic, and the oldest has ADHD). They finally made the decision to move in with Debbie's brother who lives in Tehachapi CA (Stallion Springs) until they can save enough money to move back to WA where the family is and a better job market. While now living outside of Tehachapi above Stallion Springs, Ron was getting rides to Bakersfield then taking a two hour bus ride to LA then a two hour train ride so he could go down south to Oceanside and work for 2 to 4 days and then reverse the trip to go back home to be with his family.

Recently while he was traveling to Oceanside to work he slipped and fell down some stairs. After a couple days of working his back and hip hurt so bad that he took himself to the emergency room where they did X rays on his back and hip. After the X rays the doctor wanted him admitted to the Hospital for more X rays and to do a few Cat Scans. This is where they found a Large mass in his chest and spots on his lung and has been told he has Renal Cancer for the second time and needs to have a PET test to determine if the spots on lung are Malignant which has been very hard to get done as it has to be approved given he is on Med-Cal state insurance. The first time my dad had Renal cancer they almost killed him during surgery as the doctors continued surgery when they hit is Aorta and put him in cardiac arrest. The doctors revived him 3 times until they could graph the Aorta. Meanwhile he had lost so much blood he had gotten compartment syndrome in his leg and had to have a Fasciotomy to relieve pressure on his leg which left him with permanent nerve and leg damage which he has struggled to live with being an active man that he is but I have never heard him complain about it. To say the least he is very fortunate to have had survived that ordeal and we thank God.

Back to today he has been having trouble getting his local doctor’s office to get this PET test all set up and get a Dr. that will do this PET scan to see if the lumps on his lung are Malignant as he has basic Med-Cal insurance and it all has to be pre-approved. This is way more serious and he needs faster results. We need him and his family home where I and the family can help find him proper treatment where there are great doctors and help Debbie with the kids so Ron can stay strong and WIN this fight once again.

We greatly appreciate anything and everything you can donate and 100% of it will go to relocating my dad and his family back to WA and any medical expenses while he fights this battle.

God bless you all and keep Ron and the Teter family in your prayers.
