#RomingerStrong (Medical Bills)

Karen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis two weeks after she graduated from college. That was twenty years ago. Unable to work at the career she studied for, she created jewelry and hand-made stationeryto sell to willing customers. The MS progressed to the point she was confined to a wheelchair and could only work for short periods in the morning. Through it all, she never lost the sparkle in her eye nor her zest for life. When it appeared to be getting worse she sought additional treatment, only to be diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma as well. Between the MS and the cancer, her life became more miserable but the sparkle stayed strong. After a year of chemotherapy that did not stop the Hodgkins, she is now suffering from a blood clot in her leg and cellulitis. A heavy dose of radiation therapy is next, and she may have to go to California for T-cells. The disease has cost her family dearly, both emotionally and financially, and the bills keep piling up for her treatment as well as the cost of living. The upcoming treatments will be expensive, so her extended family is swallowing our pride and asking for help.
