Road to National Ballooning Competition

I am excited to say that I have qualified for the 2014 U.S. National Hot air Balloon Competition! This makes me the first wheelchair hot air balloon pilot to ever attend this major competition! This major balloon competition hosts the top 50 competitive pilots in the USA. This is the first time I have ever qualified and am hoping to attend this event on July 26th in Longview, TX.

I plan to attend some other competitive events to help prepare myself for this event. As of right now the schedule looks to be Rio Grande Balloon Classic May 24 to 26 in Rio Rancho, NM and Battle Creek Field of Flight July 2 to 6 in Battle Creek, MI. I really would like to attend more events to prepare myself for the national competition. If we somehow exceed the proposed GoFundMe goal, I will be able to add to my prep calendar!

Here is a breakdown of how the GoFundMe cash will be spent;

$500 entery fees
$1500 hotel rooms
$2000 gas and propane
$1000 food and anything else that comes up
