‘ROCK RUNNIN' ALL OVER THE WORLD!’
CALLING ROCK FAMILIES EVERYWHERE!
In these extraordinary times the Transition Year Team are calling on all members of the Blackrock College Community all around the world to attempt an extraordinary feat! On Saturday May 23rd 2020 - students, parents, past pupils, family and friends will collectively attempt to RUN ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN!

5117km in one day!
This feat will be attempted in aid of two important charities- Aidlink and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
Aidlink is an Irish charity working to educate, enable and empower individuals, families and communities in Kenya, Uganda and Ghana to become the leaders of their own development. Aidlink has a long history with Blackrock College, where it was founded in 1982, and has worked in partnership with the Spiritan Fathers on many projects in both Ireland and abroad. Aidlink’s fundraising has been devastated by recent events.
CF Ireland is a voluntary organisation that works tirelessly to improve the treatment and facilities for people with Cystic Fibrosis in Ireland. Ireland has the highest incidence of Cystic Fibrosis in the world. CF Ireland also co-operates with medical professionals to give maximum assistance to both parents and children/adults with Cystic Fibrosis.
How you can support?
1. Commit to running on Saturday May 23rd and encourage family and friends to run too. (while adhering to government guidelines!)
2. Find sponsors to support your run by sharing our Rock Run 2020 gofundme page.
3. On the day- Run, jog or walk 5km around your local area (maintaining social distance!) and send us a photo (email) when you’ve crossed the finish line to [email redacted] and/or add it to your story on Instagram and tag blackrock5k2020, Aidlink, Cystic Fibrosis as well as your own friends.
Individually we may be confined to 5km but together we can cross the Atlantic from Blackrock to Brooklyn!
