This is a fund set up for Robert Roudebush. We are raising money for his recent Deep Brain Stimulation Procedure performed on November 19th, 2015.
Robert has been battling Parkinson's disease since 1997 when he was diagnosed at the young age of 37 years old. What started with a shake in his right hand, has progressed through the years to a crippling disorder which has left him either completely immobile or at times with vigorous involuntary movements that will not allow him to live a normal or healthy lifestyle.
By the grace of God and love from a couple very good friends, Robert has been blessed with the opportunity of a lifetime to recieve DBS (deep brain stimulation). This is a cutting edge surgery which may intervene in the progression and debilitation derived from this neuromuscular disease. Not all patients are candidates for this very invasive procedure, which includes inserting probes into the brain operated by a generator connected to his chest. His young age and progression of this disease made him an ideal candidate.
Since 2000, Robert has not been able to obtain a job due to his disability. This has led to a number of financial issues including foreclosure and thousands upon thousands of dollars in medical bills. While this life changing opportunity with DBS could not be passed up, it has made an additional impact on Rob's medical debt.
With this second chance at life, the aid and support from anyone who may empathize with Rob's situation would be greatly appreciated. Most can understand that while Rob has been battling his health for the past 18 years, his financial situation has been just as crippling. This has left his sons pooling together what they can to supplement for his additional living needs. We are just looking for some support to lift Rob from some of his medical debt burden. The love and support of his small family and amazing friends have led him to this life changing opportunity.
