Save the Family Farm!

Save the farm!

At one time the largest onion farm in the area, Robbs Family Farm has fallen on hard times since the unexpected death of our onion broker, Bob DeBryun, in 2009. We tried for a few years to continue farming onions as we had before, but, without Mr. DeBryun's contacts, it was not profitable. We have since further diversified our crops in order to pay back the bank and get Robbs Family Farm back on its feet. We have focused more on our pistachio and pecan orchards, cotton, pumpkins, triticale and oat hay, and herd of Brangus cattle. We have also entered the organic market. We sell both organic produce and organic eggs from our free range chickens. Additionally, our beef cattle are free from growth hormones and antibiotics. If you want to stop by and buy some of our produce or have any questions, feel free to visit one of our farmer's markets! You can find Robbs Family Farm at the Green Valley farmer's market in Green Valley, AZ from 8:30 to 12:30 on Wednesdays and St. Phillips Plaza farmer's market in Tucson, AZ from 9:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays. You can also visit our web site http://robbsfamilyfarm.weebly.com.

Why should you give to Robbs Family Farm?

Robbs Family Farm is committed to providing high quality products in both conventional and organic markets. Agricultural education is also very important, which is why Robbs Family Farm regularly provides field trips to local schools and has participated in many university studies. Unfortunately, the bank has noticed that other family farms in the area have easily sold to large corporations, and the bank has decided to initiate foreclosure proceedings. This has forced Robbs Family Farm to pursue alternative means of funding. Really, crowd funding fits in very well with what Robbs Family Farm is all about, community involvement. We would greatly appreciate your support in whatever capacity you can. Please help get the word out to your Facebook friends, and, above all, we could really use your prayers.

How will the money be used?

The funds raised here will go first to operational costs. Having the bank initiate foreclosure proceedings makes obtaining operating loans difficult. These funds will help us harvest the crops currently in the ground. Everything raised above whats needed for day to day operations will go to paying off the bank debt.

Thanks again for considering our cause!
