Syrian Refugee Summer Camp Fund

We are members of the Riviera Prep Varsity Tennis team, home of the Bulldogs in Miami Florida. We are reaching out to the community in an effort to help a group of Syrian Refugee children ages 4-12 who recently moved to homestead Florida.
These amazing kids were born in Aleppo and along with their families they were forced to leave their homes and their destroyed cities. Many of them have traveled by foot to other cities trying to find a safe place. For the last 4 years, they have lived in different refugee camps waiting to be admitted in a country where they can finally call home. We also learned that before they can be admitted to the US, these families had to go through a long process of rigorous investigation called “vetting”. They are young kids that, in most cases, never had any formal education. They never had the chance to practice sports, or attend camp. Last summer they had a unique opportunity from our coach Jane Forman to attend her summer tennis camp and they flourished!
It is wonderful to see that despite all the obstacles they had to overcome and their limited English skills, they came everyday enthusiastic about camp and about learning new things. Summer really helped them in the process of adapting to their new lives. We would like to help them further through

The MISSION of our project is to unite as a team to help our community through sports. We realized how privileged we are to be surrounded by loving families and live in a wonderful community. Sometimes we forget that many families are not so fortunate. We are aware that it is not so easy for many families to send their kids to camp. Realizing this need, we would like to help them go to camp this year again. We will be doing bake sales at school to collect money for them, and we hope you can contribute to our noble cause in any way you can.

All proceeds go to directly to the families summer camp expenses. Transportation, lunch, field trips, and equipment.Your contribution would make a significant impact on several children’s lives. These famlies are registered and ready to go to summer camp 2108. All donations are earmarked for the famlies camp expenses and will be paid directly to the vendors proving the services.
Whether you donate $5 or $500 — every little bit helps. Thank you, in advance, for your generous support.
