Hey guys! I am transferring to Appalachian State University in the Fall and I couldn't wait to get involved there, so by pulling some strings/magic I was allowed to sign up for a study abroad trip to Peru this July!
The trip is through the Geography department, and will count as two 3 credit-hour courses,
Andean Mountain Geography (UG) GHY 4530
Climate & Tropical Glaciers (UD) GHY 4531
which will go towards my minor in geography/will just be really flippin' cool!
Money, of course, is an issue. Though I'm already receiving some help from my grandmother, applying for study abroad scholarships and am waiting to hear back from the dining hall on a dishwashing job, I'm still going to come up short on money for tuition and for Andes-resistant hiking gear. Asking for financial help is not something I like to do, and doing so over the internet is extra strange, but if you guys did help me I'd be forever grateful/jump for joy/wouldn't know what to do with myself.
Your donations will ensure that I:
-Have a kick butt summer
-Have the opportunity to hike in the Andes mountains!!
-Have the proper equipment to do so (Boots, hiking backpack, tent and such)
-Make insane memories that I can one day share with grandchildren or anyone who will listen
-Brighten up your Facebook newsfeeds with pictures of Machu Picchu and various summits and me dying from exhuastion on said summits
-Get involved with my new school
-Have an impressive transcript and resume
-Do big things with my life!
Thank you for considering this, and to the family and friends that support my high ambition and wanderlust.
