Maria Relief: Rincon, Puerto Rico

Hurricane Maria has launched a humanitarian crisis throughout the island of Puerto Rico, home to 3.5 million Americans. ALL of these people have been left without power and basic survival resources. My family in Rincon continue to be unreachable and without commmunication. We know very little about their condition but reports indicate that there is no water, a tremendous scarcity in food, and an immense lack of infrastructure to attend to sick, elderly, and needy persons.
My mom and I are taking it upon ourselves to seek donations for the region of Rincon, her hometown. We have partnered with La Rosa Del Monte Movers to begin shipping resources to PR as soon as the island is ready to receive. Rosa Del Monte has pledged to prioritize shipments to Puerto Rico in the coming weeks, and is ready to deliver directly to our address in Barrio Pueblo, Rincon. Carr 414, Km 4.9. She will be traveling there to distribute the donations in the coming weeks. We plan to continue to share updates, photographs, receipts, and testimonials.
In addition to monetary donations we will be hosting a week of pick-ups - if you have any surplus items at home or can purchase goods for donation, my mom will be doing rounds of collection throughout Miami-Dade county. The government has estimated the power grid will take at least 3-4 months to rebuild in order to return normalcy to homes, resume businesses, and reopen schools.
These items will continue to be in high demand for months on end, and even our donations will rapidly diminish.
