Help Riley & Max Move

Hi friends! 

Some unfortunate life circumstances over the last few weeks have led us here. Late in February, Riley & Max received word that their landlord is ending their month-to-month lease & they have to be out of their Central District home by noon on March 31. 

On top of the short time span, Max has been recovering from a pretty severe concussion due to an incident with some bros on Capitol Hill, and has to be on brain rest and restricted work hours until at least March 8.
 
 We have to stay close to the Central District / off of Rainier because Max doesn't have a car or any extra funds for transportation at this time. Max doesn't want to give up their job, and needs to be able to walk to work. Riley would like to remain in a similarly central location so that he can commute easily to nanny gigs all over the county. 

After the panic, fear, anger and shock wore off, we decided to reach out to the Seattle community for help. To lean into vulnerability and ask humbly for help. We can't afford to move without help, and though the timing of things could not be worse -- it's time for a fresh start. To have a place that feels like home. Riley and I want to continue to live together, and want to continue to be a growing presence in the Seattle community and beyond. This is us asking for some help in this tough time, and a promise that we will give back in full once we have stabilized. 

 We have  good lead on a house in Beacon Hill that meets all of our needs.  The landlords live on site an are dog friendly, flexible, and most of all, radically accepting of our queer & trans selves.

Our fundraising goal is set at $5000 to cover the majority of the following costs:

$2400 - 1st month's rent + utilities due at signing
$2400 - last month's rent. 1/3 due at signing; 1/3 at month 2; 1/3 at month 3. 
$1200 - Refundable security
$500 - Cleaning

Any additional funding will be used to help cover the cost of moving supplies. 

This is a huge ask, in a time that's hard for all of us. We want to give back in any way possible, and have brainstormed some incentives for donors:

We will send out incentive vouchers / prints / etc once settled into the new place - likely around May or June. We will also have a house warming party for donors in May/June to thank you all & welcome you to our new space.
