#RightToLiteracy

Donation protected
I am Jamarria Hall, a graduate of Osborn High School and I am the student advocate from the #RighttoLiteracy lawsuit. Today we received a victory in a long waging battle. The federal appeals court ruled that Detroit students have the right to an education. We are not done! With Covid-19 raging through our community exposing even more inequities, it has become clear that more work must be done to ensure students have the resources and opportunity to become productive and intellectual adults. Last year I partnered with InnerCity Neighborhood Alliance to provide at least 500 kids from my alma mater Osborn, elementry students from Detroit Public Schools and Cody High School, with book bags and supplies. This year I want to do a lot more. Kids should be prepared to return to school and study at home. So in addition to receiving bookbags with supplies, I would love to help students in need, receive- a desk, chair and lamp. While I will be working to find funds and resources to make this happen by August of 2020, I am also asking for your support. By making a donation of any size, it will go to the estimated $50.00 per child, I'm ready to learn at school and at home fund. Thank you for believing Every child has a #RighttoLiteracy.
