I have had a long and hard battle with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome since 2001. For those who have never heard of this condition, I live with intense burning pain, stiffness, swelling, and discoloration on the left side of my body. The pain is excruciating and has been described by some of my fellow peers as being worse than labor pain during childbirth. My pain scale very rarely falls below a 7 out of 10.

In trying to find relief, I took the advice of my pain management doctors and received over 80 epidural injections and 3 chemical sympathectomies over 3 years. Instead of finding relief through these procedures, they made matters worse and I was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis in November of 2012 requiring a double hip replacement at the age of 35.
I hate asking for money, but sometimes you have to set your pride aside. My little family has been battling this alone for too long and the stress has become overwhelming.The medical bills have piled up and I still have my right hip surgery to go. I try to stay positive, but some days get to be too much.


After getting through the next two surgeries, the plan is to get into an RSD/CRPS specialist to look for better pain management options, such as Ketamine infusions. Even with insurance, these treatments are not cheap by any means.
