Return Yoga

Return Yoga is a Minnesota Non-Profit yoga studio providing subsidized yoga classes to Vets, First Responders, at risk populations and free yoga classes to all youth under 18 years old. Return also teaches the highest quality yoga classes at a real life cost - to EVERYONE - believing that yoga should be accesible.

The studio is nearly two years old and is, really, doing quite well in terms of numbers of students, classes, visibility, etc. However, the studio is behind on bills, the owner is in financial distress, and moving on is a foggy prospect. A studio can't survive on very cheap if not free yoga classes.

The reality is that even the most commerical of studios make their money in teacher training programs.  Return will begin it's own teacher training program come September, but needs help getting to September. The studio is not going to close: we'll get to September and finances will change.  It's a question of going into September thousands of dollars in debt, on the verge of burn out, and rethinking whether to stay or go after that first yoga teacher training, OR being ready move into next stages with 501(c)3 status and teacher training covering overhead.

The studio has 'made it’ this far because I’ve been willing to let the cost fall back on myself. To essentially not pay myself and throw all proceeds back into the studio. To be there, all the time, more days than not. The studio isn’t ‘making it’: its keeping the doors open because I don’t take vacations, the bolsters are home made, and I pay the electric bill rather than buy myself shoes when I need them.

Operating costs of the studio average $3500 during summer months, $4000 fall to late spring.

In the last few months, Return has brought in less than $2000.  I've absorbed the difference.

Throw on top of that a move, emergency vet bills, and emergency care for herself, and Karin is broke.  There is nothing to put back into the studio, nothing to buy groceries or pay bills with, and nothing to advertise the teacher training.

I've paid for your yoga, for the youth yoga, and for the Strong Body, Quiet Mind project. If you've appreciated that for yourself or others, if you want that to be available to the community in future, please help it continue.

Much love and many thanks,

Karin
