UPDATED: Please read last update Hello All! As you may have seen on my FB page recently I have been trying to get Boomer, a black lab who has been stuck in the shelter for 4 years out! Breakdown of some cost to save Boomer:
$600 for flight - Delta cargo
$1025 for heart worm treatment
*Any left over money will go towards additional training after his treatment

A video was posted of him by a volunteer and my heart shattered as you could see in the video that Boomer is suffering mentally from 'kennelitis' a mental disorder caused by being kennels for too long. In the video he is spinning in circles over and over due to the stress and anxiety of being in there for 4 years. After speaking with the shelter staff, I found out Boomer was brought in 4 years ago as a stray and due to the location and hours of the shelter as well as Boomer's behavior in the kennel from stress, he has had little to no interest. I have reached out to over 40 rescue groups in the Florida, Chicago, Denver and New York area and due to reaching their own limits they could not help. Most never even emailed or called back. So, I am going to go get Boomer myself and bring him to California with me because I can hardly sleep at night knowing this friendly dog is STILL in the shelter after four long years. I'm wanting to start a GoFundMe account so I can prepare resources for Boomer to transition into a life after being in the kennel for 4 years. He has one free week of training already set up but Im anticipating he will need more training to ensure he can overcome any stresses and or behavioral issues he has picked up while being in the shelter. I would love for him to have at least another solid week of training which would cost approximately $450. The cost of shipping Boomer in the cargo of a Delta flight is approximately $600. This is the priciest part of rescuing Boomer! I am paying for everything out of pocket but with any money raised I will directly apply it to Boomer and Boomer only meaning HIS flight, training, and any other unforeseen expenses related to Boomer. None of the funds raised will go towards my flight or travel. I will be excited to post updates and well as any receipts related to the purchase so everyone is kept in the light as to where the money is going. Any extra funds left over will be donated to the shelter where Boomer is at as they are a NO KILL shelter and housing dogs not fit for adoption for the rest of their lives. I'm inviting you to participate in this rescue by helping me to raise this money necessary to free Boomer. Any donations would greatly be appreciated!!
