Renee Cooke's funeral expenses

On Tuesday January 16th Renee Cooke passed away in her sleep.  Her family are all out of state and snowed in at the moment so they are not able to come to NYC right now.  Since Renee did not have any life insurance and very little money saved it is my wish and heartfelt desire to raise money for her cremation and memorial service within the next 4 days or less.  My dear friend Renee Cooke was a successful fashion runway model in the 70's who then later became a very popular bartender in the NYC gay community.  She tended bar at famous venues such as: The Dutchess, Champs, Sound Factory Bar, Twilo, The Chick Inn and Ruby Fruit. Renee had an incredibly infectious smile and charm.  She naturally lit up every space that she graced with her presence.  Her time here on this earth may have come to an end.  However, her gentle kindness will live on in the memories of all those who were lucky enough to come in contact with her.  Her family is out of state and so I and two other good friends were all the family she had here in NYC.  Unfortunately, she did not have any life insurance and very little savings.   As an attempt to show my love and gratitude for having been lucky enough to be one of Renee's dearest and closest friends I want to raise $5K to pay for Renee's cremation and Memorial service.  It would also give everyone who knew and loved her an opportunity to not only pay their respects but to come together in celebration of her life.  As we all know Renee loved a gathering of good loving people.  More than anything else in this world  Renee loved good people, good food and good music.
