Urgent Medical Care For Remus "Remy"

Remus "Remy" was found being attacked by a big dog. He is only about 20 pounds and a year old. A Good Samaritan stopped the attack and not knowing what else to do took Remy to Vergi to end his suffering. The doctors felt Remy could easily be saved so a plea for rescue was done. We could not let him suffer and agreed to back his medical care so he could begin treatment. He has multiple punctures and abrasions that will require surgery as soon as he is stable. This poor boy has a urinary catheter and is on IV pain meds along with antibiotics. Last night his blood sugar dropped so he couldn't have surgery just yet. He has had X-rays done and will continue further tests and care. His scrotum is ripped open with a testicle hanging out. He is bruised all over his poor little body. Remy is a very sweet boy and affectionately gave kisses to the staff at Vergi 24/7 while being cared for at initial intake last night. He will remain at Vergi another 24 to 48 hours at a minimum. We are praying for positive updates on him today. Right now his estimated cost of care is 2500 to 3000 dollars.
