Nate Blevins (Uecker), 39 years of age, tragically passed on October 11th, 2020. He struggled from birth with health issues. Born with gastric duplication, it was later discovered he also had pancreas duplication. Surgery in 2012 resulted in a long battle with diabetes and ultimately acute multi-organ failure, which ended his life.
He leaves behind many family members who loved him dearly. Most importantly are his two beautiful daughters, Remi Marie (7) & Marley Mae (4) who were the light of his world and the greatest legacy he leaves behind.
While Nate was always the life of the party, what he treasured most were his two precious girls. They are filled with joy and life and at any given time could be found climbing on Nate like a jungle gym. Remi loves dance and sports, especially soccer. A few short weeks ago, the last game Nate would attend, Remi scored four goals in the first few minutes. While this made Nate loud (I mean proud), he needed to remind himself that "it's just girls little league.”
Marley Mae, while she may not be the eldest sibling, can definitely hold her own. She is a dare devil who isn’t afraid of anything. Know the saying, “If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you follow?” Well, she’s the friend you are following. She is confident in her belief that daddy is sitting on her right shoulder.
Shortly after Nate’s passing, Marley asked her Grandma Cathy to text God. And they did. Among many things, she told her Dada in Heaven that she was always going to be with him because she loved him so much and that she would write his Christmas list and bring the presents to Heaven. The next day while on the swings she asked, “Hey, did God get back with you?” There’s no doubt they love their daddy and will miss him dearly.
Many of you have asked how you can help. In lieu of flowers, we have set up a general fund for the girls.

Nate enjoyed all things Kansas City . . . the Royals, Chiefs, and BBQ to name a few. He was a loyal friend with a heart of gold and smile the size of Texas. He never met a stranger - whether he knew you for ten years or ten minutes he always made you feel welcome. Nate had a photographic memory, never forgot a name and knew the words to songs most of us could only hum to. You could always count on him to rap, sing, dance and crack a few jokes. He had a passion for cooking.
If you ever tasted his burnt ends you knew BBQ was his specialty. In spite of the struggles with his health, Nate was a gifted athlete. At Forest Hills Central he still holds two school records, long jump and high jump. At 5'10", Nate was able to jump 6'9". He also achieved All-State recognition as a wide receiver.
Nate will be missed dearly, and in his words, “Peace, homie.”
