Remembering Murielle Bontemps

On Thursday, July 27th, 2017, Murielle Bontemps started her day like any other day. If you knew her, you would know how much she took pride in how she represented herself. Arriving to work and completing her work day, Murielle began her commute back home. While she was probably thinking of how to spend her evening, Murielle had a heart attack on the Metrobus. Other commuters immediately saw this and called for help. Murielle was without a pulse for 50 minutes! Yes, 50 minutes. After attempts of recovery, emergency responders were able to revive her where she fell into a coma for the next few days.
Over the next few days, Murielle fought a fight like never before. With doctors, nurses, family and friends advocating for her full recovery, Murielle tried her hardest not to give up. After a full seven days of a worthy fight, Murielle succumbed to the effects of the heart attack. On Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at 9:21P.M., with family and friends by her side, Murielle passed away into glory at the age of 47.
Murielle was and still is beyond loved by people near and far. Stories of how she brought family, friends and strangers together during her lifetime and even in the time of her death is beyond unimaginable. While this passing of Murielle is hurtful, we will only celebrate her life the way she wished, with joy and laughter. Known for her infectious laugh and witty comments, we will continue to remember her this way.
