<div><strong>Fund the new home for the most vulnerable dogs and their loyal caretaker!</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi, we are a team of volunteers from GaGa Animal Care.
</div>
<div>We desperately need to finish the house of the founder of GaGa -Gerbien- and the most vulnerable dogs which need special care and living conditions. They are very traumatized, scared, sick and old.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gerbien Fricke has dedicated her last 25 years to run GaGa Animal Care, a dog shelter in Eressos, Lesvos - Greece, that hosts about 85 stray dogs, and run TNR (Trap Neuter Return) sterilisation campaigns twice a year, neutering about 800 dogs and cats per year.
</div>
<div>Thanks to this, there are no more stray dogs in Eressos! Our dogs are rescued and rehomed in mainly Holland through our GaGa Netherlands team.
</div>
<div>Of the stray cats, about 80% are neutered and because they are fed and medically monitored all year round, animal welfare is at a high level.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gerbien lives next to a hotel, which is now fully exploited and she has to leave there because of noise pollution,causing a very stressful situation… and we do have enough running a dog shelter in Greece!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Her current home with about 10 special need dogs -which we call "Villa GaGa"- is in very poor condition, but it is the only place where she can stay at the moment. No insulation, no hot water… after hours of work caring for animals.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We do have a facility called "Camp GaGa", on a farming area with 12 dog pens where we shelter up to about 75 dogs. The last 6 pens were created in the spring of 2024 to accommodate puppies, new dogs, and necessarily some of the special need dogs. This is not a place to live since it doesn’t have electricity or water connection, so we can not build there.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Most of the special need dogs will stay with us for their entire lives. We wish for them more than their entire lives in Camp GaGa, with lots of other dogs and changing volunteers. For these unfortunate dogs, we want a home-like setting, where they can get lots of individual attention and live a happy life with the one person they trust: Gerbien.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since the closest vet is almost an hour away, a treatment room is most welcome, so first aid and basic care can be given onsite to our dogs and community dogs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What we want to do?</strong>
</div>
<div>To make a home for Gerbien and the special needs dogs, with a treatment room attached where we can give basic aid to dogs, and 4 emergency pens for dogs after interventions or sick dogs in isolation. Basically a decent “New Villa GaGa".
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What we have done so far… thanks to people like YOU!!</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li><strong>May 2023</strong>: We bought the land with a small brick house, and created pens for puppies on the land besides it. We also added a bathroom and a mezzanine inside the house for a bedroom. With the first 20.000 we raised with fundraisings we started the renovation of the house. The project was on hold and we started again, got new quotations and a team behind to lead it.
</li>
<li><strong>August 2024</strong>: We raised almost 16,000 euros from a few generous donations and moved on with contractors.
</li>
<li><strong>November and December 2024</strong>: We did the electrical and the plumbing connections inside, and we plastered both inside and outside. We also started the paperwork to move the electricity box to the house, since it was wrongly placed 500mtrs away from the house.
</li>
<li><strong>January/February 2025:</strong> We will add windows and we will almost finish the terrace and the floor for the treatment room.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>What we need now</strong>
</div>
<div>We need 12,5k to finish the house and another 12,5 for the treatment room and emergency pens.
</div>
<div>Our goal is for Gerbien to move in spring 2026 the latest and we need your help!
