Name Change and Top Surgery

Hello! My name is Reid Ruiz and I'm trying to raise money for a legal name change and top surgery. I identify as non-binary and the journey to this point has not been easy. It's unfortunate that the last steps to making myself feel whole cost so much money.  I deal with being misgendered every single day and the part that really gets to me is that no matter which way society instinctually goes...they're going to be wrong. This world lives its life with a binary mentality.  
Having my legal name be what I need it to be and having my reflection be exactly who I want to see is more important than I can even begin to explain.  

I have found a doctor that I would like to do the surgery.
Dr. Mosser in San Francisco is a gender confirmation specialist and someone that I am going to be trusting with this part of my journey. The procedure and everything that goes along with it is quoted at $8,000-$9000.  Factoring in taking time off to recover and adding the over $600 cost of a legal name change in the state of California....we get my fund-raising goal.

The top surgery I don't expect to happen next week or next month. I'm prepared to wait a bit longer on that, but the name change is a bit more urgent.  I can't deal with this anymore. I want to be able to pull out my license and see my name. I want to apply for jobs and not have to explain why my legal name is different than what is on my resumé.
