In a day in which the church of God has been constantly targeted, a great blow has been dealt. Apostle Johnie Clark, Sr. Pastor of the Rehoboth United Assemblies in Columbia, SC has been jailed for having too noisy of a worship service. The Pastor has been jailed and NEEDS THE BODY OF CHRIST'S HELP
Any that are familiar with a pentecostal worship experience know that their is singing, dancing, shouting, and sounds of joy that ring throughout the service.
The church has stood in its same location for over 30 years now; and the past 5 years a couple built a house less than 20 feet from the church, and calls weekly to complain about the sounds of worship coming from the church.
The court has fined the Apostle and his wife, Dr. Harriet J. Clark over $4500.00 and sentenced Apostle Clark to 14 days in jail which he is now serving. That jail sentence will be extended if the fines are not paid. Additionally the church needs to make moves to prevent any further fines by sound proofing it's windows ($600). Lets show this community that the kingdom of God stands behind its own.
Remember in Phillippians that the Apostle Paul wrote to the phillippian church that they were the ONLY ONE that communicated with him thru giving while he was imprisoned for delivering the gospel. To THEM he declared in Phillippians 4:19 that "my God will supply all of YOUR needs, according to his riches in glory"
Certainly the spirit of the Phillippian church is still among us, lets help this church! Remember Dr. Martin Luther King said "A threat to justice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". We say "a threat to our worship anywhere, is a threat to our worship everywhere." This could be your church and pastor one day.
