RED LUNCHBOX is a comfortable, plant-based restaurant with a small, bold menu that changes often.

It’s not just for vegetarians or vegans; don’t go to RED LUNCHBOX because it’s plant-based, go because it’s undeniably delicious. And interesting. But mostly delicious.
 


Not a typical employer.
RED LUNCHBOX isn’t a typical business. It offers a new idea, a new blueprint to help its workers live a happier, healthier, more balanced life.

The typical profit sharing idea is a share of the net profit, averaging between 2.5% and 7.5%, sometimes 10%, rarely as high as 15%. 

RED LUNCHBOX offers quarterly bonuses equal to thirty percent net profit. Thirty. These bonuses are divided by hours worked in that quarter. 

Plus, the equivalent of fifteen percent of net profits are dedicated to benefits and perks designed to encourage workers to live healthier, happier and more balanced lives. Some perks - based on profits - include:  travel allowance, tuition assistance, yoga or gym membership, long-term savings plan, child care assistance, education fund, technology purchase allowance, student debt payment assistance, even a holiday bonus fund!

This adds up to 45% of profits, given back to the people who deserve it most, the workers.
 
Behind the madness.
Why would we do this? Why would we want this?
If workers are paid like owners, won’t they feel like owners? Won’t they then act like owners? Won’t they take pride in their job, maybe even love going to work?

Doesn’t it seem fair that the people doing the work receive the reward? This plan is a chance to help people live a little better, achieve a solid balance, travel a little more and work a little less.

The workers at RED LUNCHBOX will be given the tools to truly discover who they are. And act on it.

In The Community.
RED LUNCHBOX endeavours to helps society at large live healthier, happier lives. As Canadians, we pride ourselves on good health care, and we should, but our system is set up as a reactive one and doesn’t seem to do much in the way of prevention.

At RED LUNCHBOX, we’re not looking to fix that entirely, of course, but we’ll certainly try our best to make a dent.   

We will make a sustained effort to engage in our community in a meaningful way, spreading the mantra of eating well, living well.

We offer free plant-based cooking classes. We host talks on preventative health care. We host free, drop-in exercise classes multiple times weekly. Maybe yoga, kettlebell, barre or pilates.
