I've spent seventeen years of my life in the service industry, having dropped out of college. Not the brightest idea,
but an easy path! I've mastered both the front and back of the house, and carved myself out a comfy niche at La Peniche Restaurant in the Marigny. Never thought I'd see the day, but we closed or doors recently for good, and thus ended a very special and meaningful chapter of my life!
The past couple of years have brought many challenges and sudden changes beginning with the ending of a ten year monogomous relationship, hernia operation, Putting down my 14-year old dog (daughter and closest companion), Pusspuss, and the passing of one my dearest, eldest friends, and next-door neighbor.
After the losing the last stable influence in my life (La Peniche), I grew very worried that I would take a dark path. I didn't want past demons I've conquered to return in my vulnerabikiity! I really wanted to take time off of work and rediscover some of my more creative qualities, as I see that as a form of therapy.
I had bought my scooter as a treat to myself with my tax returns, and while tryilng to thinka way to earn a living without having to answer to anyone, or puncch a time clock, and having been the head dinner cook for so many years, I've always relied heavily on take out food. Living in the Bywater, I have very few options to have dinner or groceries delivered! I decided why should people in the French Quarter be the only people afforded the luxury of having anything they want delivered to their front door! Thus the birth of Rockyn' Robyn UBIF Dlivery! I'm a free-lance, rengade delivery service with plenty to offer such as bike repair, mailing packages, courier services, and anything anyone can think of that could be accomplished by myself and my scooter!
Being a new business, I can't afford to lose my availability, for fear people will think I'm a flake who isn't taking his life seriously!
lStarting my businss consumed nearly drained all my savings, and now restarting it from scratch is going to require alot of careful planning and hekp, which any of my friends could tell ya I'd much rather give than ask for! I plan on securing a new scooter today, and after talking to my insurance agent, it doesn't seem I'll be recieving much help from them....poo! So I humbly come to you, my friends and fellow local dwellers! Help me keep my dream alive of offering the whole city the luxury of home delivery!
