For the past two years I have been in Ovation Training.
Here I am singing Rolling in the Deep during my first year of Ovation Training in February of 2012:

This year I was promoted to Ovation Show Choir!

Ovation Show Choir's Mission is "to provide music education and professional-quality performance opportunities that develop self-esteem, depth of character, and advanced music skills" for high school age boys and girls.

I have always enjoyed singing and was excited when my parents encouraged me to audition for Ovation Training two years ago. Through the training I have honed my skill and my confidence has grown as I have performed to audiences in Portland and on tours to locations like Disneyland (pictured above).

This year I have the opportunity to continue studying under the instruction of Dr. David York as a member of Ovation Show Choir.
We have already started rehearsing for our first show, "Kings, Queens, and a Pair of Aces" Where we will feature music from Queen, Elvis, Michael Jackson, and Simon & Garfunkel.
I am also preparing for my solo in the annual "Singing Sensation" contest. I walked up to my dad in the kitchen last week and said, "Hey dad, sing this melody, 'And you can tell everybody, this is your song...'" He joined in, and I started singing the harmony. I smiled and said, "guess what I chose for Singing Sensation?" My dad smiled and said, "Your Song! Which version are you singing?"
"I think I will do a cross between Elton John's and the one in Moulin Rouge."
"Awesome!"

I am committed to fully participating with the Ovation Show Choir and growing, together with the other choristers, in skill, self-esteem, and character.
I will keep you posted on how we are doing and inform you of upcoming performances and other benchmarks.
I also hope to be posting pictures, video, and audio of our performances.

Will you partner with me in this through investing financially, sending me encouragements, and letting me know how I can encourage you through this year?

In order for me to do this, I need to raise half of my tuition and fees.
Here is the breakdown of the cost that I need to raise this year:
$525 Tuition
$37.50 Dress
$175 Tour
$550 Gap (Ovation show choir only asks the students to pay $1050 for tuition, but the true cost of program is $1600, and they encourage the students to do additional fund raising to make up for that gap)
Other Expenses & Fees 128.75
Added up, it is just below $1500. So I will set that as my goal!

Any amount raised above the total goal will be donated to Ovation Show Choir for scholarships for other students and used to purchase tickets for the concerts.

My hope is that 75 people will invest $20 each, though any amount will receive my gratitude. Will you join us? Will you also consider passing this opportunity on to someone else who you know would be interested?

I hope you can make it to one of our concerts!

Thank you!
