Hi, my name is Rebecca Radvinsky and I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime!  I am one of 40 kids in my area who have been selected to travel as a student ambassador with People to People and represent the United States in the cities of Paris and London.  This is an honor, considering that you are only considered if a teacher confidentially nominates you because they believe you to be a person with strong leadership skills who is inspired by community service.

I am an 11 year old college-bound girl, who loves art, math and world culture.  I was chosen to participate in a unique program that takes students across the world to teach them how they can become independent leaders and give back to the world-wide community.

This program is not a non-profit organization and the participation fee is a large sum for my family.  As a minor, I am not allowed to hold a job to earn the money to travel.  Therefore, in keeping with the spirit of independence, my family and I have come up with a plan that we hope will help me raise funds while also giving back.  It is very important to me to earn my own way, while being socially responsible.

I am reaching out to you and am hopeful that your generosity will help me participate in this wonderful opportunity to learn and grow. To show how much I am willing to work for this goal, I have set up two levels of donations that will give back to our community. 

"¢            For a donation of $30.00, I will donate one of my gently-used stuffed animals to a non-profit known as SAFE - Stuffed Animals For Emergencies (http://www.stuffedanimalsforemergencies.org/).  This organization donates toys and blankets to kids who have been through emergency situations, such as Hurricane Sandy.  I, personally, know how important a stuffed friend can be when times are difficult.  What kid hasn't wanted to have a stuffed animal or doll with them when they go to the doctor or get a shot?  I would LOVE to be able to share the comfort of a warm hug in a time of need.

"¢            For a donation of $100.00, My family and I will donate an hour of our time to a charity in my area.  We are planning on donating time to Food on Foot (http://foodonfoot.org/) and the Saffyre Sanctuary (http://www.saffyresanctuary.org) as well as various food banks.

I am more than happy to give back, especially in order to experience more of the world I inhabit.

If I am fortunate enough to achieve my fundraising goal, this program will allow me to join other 5th and 6th grade students as part of People to People, an educational exploration program founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.  This 14 day trip will provide some amazing experiences such as: training as an honorary knight at Warwick Castle, visiting Stonehenge, meeting a former member of British Parliament, retracing the steps of World War II soldiers on the coast of Normandy (and leaving a wreath at a soldier's grave), visiting the Palace of Versailles, attending a West End show, and exploring the Eiffel Tower. 

Ever since I was small, I've been intrigued with all things Parisian.  I love the food, the language and the art.  As an aspiring artist, it is my dream to see and sketch the Eiffel Tower in person.  Please consider assisting me in achieving this incredible dream!  Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this.  Any donation amount will help and I truly thank you for giving!
