YellowOut Campaign#isupportreaghanv

Donation protected
Hello my name is Reaghan and I was born with Spina Bifida. I am paralyzed from the calves down. October is Spina Bifida Awareness month and yellow is the color that represents SB. When people ask me me why I have leg braces and use a walker, I tell them it is because I have Spina Bifida.  Most of the time they don't know what Spina Bifida is.  It affects around 22% of the world's population some with little to no recognizable symptons all the way up to complete paralysis.  It is most common in hispanics.

When people think about October, they think about Breast Cancer Awareness, Halloween and Bullying Awareness so I started thinking why can't Spina Bifida be as recognizable?  Last year my friends and family encouraged me enough to start an awareness campaign. It started out with just 50 yellow wristbands and within a week we had to order 50 more. The first 50 were primarily at my school.  Even after that there were so many people that wanted more so they could show their pride and post with #isupportreaghanv.  So with all of this love and support, I decided to go bigger this year with t-shirts to wear in October and post with the hashtag again.  I want to get awareness out there and for people to understand Spina Bifida and for those affected to feel encouraged to know that they should "Be Yourself, Love Yourself, Express Yourself and Empower Yourself".

I have set a goal for myself to sell 200 shirts this year around the country.  On a specific day in October (still to be announced), I would like everyone to post a pic of them wearing their shirt on social media with the hashtag #isupportreaghanv.  Last year my school principle approved the wristbands for students and teachers and I am hopeful he will allow it again this year.  My biggest challenge is to have a well-known artist, athlete, hero, etc. to support my awarenss campaign.  That would be awesome!

I'm not trying to change the world, just help people understand that although I have a handicap, it doesn't have me (or them). Hopefully through this I can reach someone and inspire them.

Please join me!  For every $15 donation, you get to choose a tshirt.  The sizes are youth XL, adult S, M, L, XL, and XXL.  Please note it appropriately.  The shirts are pre-shrunk and true to size.  Please note, you can also pay us personally by cash, check or through PayPal.  This site will be updated with those contributions.  Any proceeds that are received will be dontated to the Spina Bifida Association and also to support me as I compete in the 2015 Miss Amazing pagaent.

Thank you to all of my sponsors and individuals who helped me on this project and I can't wait for October!!  Empower Yourself!
