Reach and Teach Peru

Hello! My name is Tim Roos, and I am currently raising funds to go to Cusco, Peru for 6 months to volunteer to teach local Peruvians English and volunteer in a local hospital.

English is becoming a universal language in the world and important in advancement opportunities in impoverished areas of the globe.

The health care system in Peru is becoming a huge burden for its citizens. Among Latin American countries, Peru has one of the highest infant mortality rates and one of the highest mortality rates for women after childbirth. In addition, there are many regions in Peru that lack basic medicinal resources and are in dire need of help.

My mission is teach and nourish the minds of elementary children how to speak English while simultaneously preparing them for a promising future. In addition I will also be offering any service I can in the local hospital.

So where is the money going? The program that will allow me to go, International Volunteers HQ, requires $220 for a program fee and $2920 to stay with a host family for 6 months who will provide me with a room and meals. The leftover funds will be spent on my plane ticket to go to Peru, mandtaotry traveler's insurance which is approximately $700, and teaching supplies.

The Reward levels are not the only 'goodies' that people can receive either. If they want help with the yard, mowing, moving, cooking, Tennis lessons etc. They can offer me any donation to help and I will gladly oblige.

I wish to immerse myself into these scenarios in Peru to offer my help in any way I can.
