Help Ray and Alecia Make a Baby
For the last 3 years,
we've been on a roller coaster of emotions trying to conceive a child. We
have gradually discovered that, due to Ray's spinal cord injury, this is only possible
with a lot of help from medical science.
We're so grateful that this technology exists and we're excited to
finally move forward.
However, fertility
treatments are very expensive and insurance doesn't cover any of it here. Ray has already had 2 expensive fertility surgeries. Our resources are depleted, but we now have
hope that a third surgery ($5,600) combined with ICSI in vitro fertilization
($15,000-19,000) will be successful. We will have to get a loan, but with
your help, the payments can be less painful.
It has been 4 years
since Ray lost his career-track job due to the housing market crash and 2 1/2
years since his last job. He continues to search hard and has never given
up. We are very blessed to have my teacher's salary to make ends meet.
Even though we are scared, we feel strongly that moving forward with
building our family is the right thing to do. We have faith that if we
take that step into the dark, the Lord will provide a way. In order to
take that step, however, we need to have these procedures done.
We are greatly
touched by any support you can provide. We desperately want to have at
least one child that is part of both of us. Ray has a strength of
