<div>This will jam 18,000+ people into 1.2 square miles in an extreme fire danger area with limited ways to get out during a wildfire.

<div>The lawsuit is asking the court to immediately block the City from moving forward with the project until a proper environmental review is done, with the public given a fair chance to weigh in. It's also asking the court to completely wipe out all existing project approvals and keep them voided until the City follows the correct legal process — including doing adequate environmental analysis and backing their decisions with real evidence.

<div>The City of Rancho Cucamonga made a promise to our community. We believe they broke it.
</div>

</div>
<div>The Etiwanda Heights Neighborhood &amp; Conservation Plan was created with a clear limit — no more than 2,700–3,000 homes. That wasn't a suggestion. It was a commitment to the residents of Rancho Cucamonga.

<div>The City recently approved a number significantly higher than that.
</div>

<div>When we found out, we showed up. We raised concerns about fire evacuation safety and what we believe to be an insufficient environmental review process. We asked questions. We asked for more time. The City Council dismissed our concerns voted to approve.

<div>So we did the only thing we had left — we formed the <strong>Rancho Cucamonga Preservation Society</strong>, retained land-use attorneys, and filed suit. Our attorneys have reviewed the approval process and believe we have strong grounds to challenge this decision in court.

<div>This isn't about stopping growth. <strong>It's about demanding our city follow proper process, honor its commitments, consider wildfire safety, and respect the people it represents.</strong>

<div>Initial legal costs to file and argue this challenge are estimated at $100,000.
</div>

<div>Our funding goal is $100,000. While the vast majority of funds are restricted to the courtroom challenge, a small portion is used for communication expenses and essential legal and regulatory costs of establishing our nonprofit status.
