The Ramsay Family Healing Fund

On Monday, May 29, 2017 (Memorial Day), the Ramsay family had a small accidental fire in their house. A bottle of isopropyl alcohol exploded in front of Micah, Dave, and Naima. All 3 were admitted to the hospital. Dave and Naima sustained 2nd degree burns but were able to be discharged. Micah, was immediately sedated, intubated and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on 15% of his body. He is burned on much of his face, on his ears, neck, chest, stomach, arms, wrists and hands. He will likely have to spend at least a month in the hospital recuperating.
The family has much healing both physically and emotionally ahead of them. Besides moral support and prayers, they need some changes to their house so they may have a warm welcome upon their return. Additionally, Micah and Naima must stay out of the sun and be indoors for about a year. Because of this, we are organizing donations to help with the cost of renovations to the kids bedrooms so they can have their own space to heal. We are also looking for individuals who might be skilled at painting, minor carpentry work, and could really use someone with a designer's eye to help create a plan.
In addition, new countertops for the kitchen are needed, since this is where the fire took place. If anyone has a connection, let us know. Otherwise, some of the raised funds will go to cover the replacement.
Lastly, the family is hoping to take the kids on a healing journey with a trip to Disney next year when they can be outdoors again. After bedroom and counter fixes, the remaining funds would go to defray the cost of a trip.
