There is a great deal of need in the Napa Valley beyond the immediate families of Cain. We will direct all funds beyond our goal to the Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund:
Margaret Powers, Cain's Bookkeeper, will be receiving and distributing the funds with oversight from our GoFundMe team members.
Here's how the proceeds of our campaign goal will be used:
Two families living at Cain Vineyard & Winery have lost their homes and virtually all of their possessions. Four parents and their five kids need new homes right now. When the wildfire swept through Cain on Sunday night, both the Ramos family and the Avila Santos family lost their homes and all their possessions. Alberto Ramos and Alberto Avila have each worked in the Cain Vineyard for more than twenty years and along with the rest of our dedicated team of vineyardists, have planted, trained, pruned and lovingly tended all of the more than 130,000 vines. Here's a glimpse of Beto pruning a few vines - this was more than ten years ago.
Now Beto and Rafa must find new places for their families to live as soon as possible. Your contribution will go toward those very basic immediate needs: first & last month's rent + security deposit, along with some of the first supplies to set up their households.
