<div>A defibrillator, bleed control kit and external cabinet that securely houses both vital pieces of equipment and the installation costs are £1,600 per emergency cabinet. The cabinets are available 24/7 and not ever locked behind closed doors as, sadly, is the case with most defibrillators, in particular.

<div>When somebody's heart stops beating,  it means that they are in cardiac arrest and they need urgent help. Chest compressions should be given immediately when you ascertain that somebody is not responsive or breathing. You need to call 999 straight away, who will tell you where your nearest defibrillator is and how to open the cabinet (if it is locked). Ask someone to fetch the defibrillator whilst you perform chest compressions - never leave a person in cardiac arrest on their own.

<div>In the case of a catastrophic bleed; a person can lose their life within 5 minutes , which is why bleed control kits are essential for our cabinets. Both defibrillators and bleed kits are straightforward to use with easy to follow instructions on both. We also train people for free on how to use defibrillators and perform CPR to enable people to become confident lifesavers.

<div>We have identified several areas in our borough where we want to install 24/7 access defibrillators but we can only do it with the help of our community who will directly benefit from our work.
