On August 13, 2013, Sebastien Sanon,15 years old, was swept away by the currents in Pennypack Creek. Family, friends, and authorities spent 4 days looking for him in hopes of bringing him to safety. Unfortunately, on Saturday August 17, Sebastien was found deceased in the Delaware River by a good Samaritan.
Sebastien was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Philadelphia. As his older sister, I was blessed to witness him grow into such a remarkable young man. He was taking classes at Agora Cyber Charter School and dreamed of one day becoming an astronomer. He was kind, loyal and made sure everyone around him was laughing and happy. He appreciated life and loved humanity.
Sebastien is the 17th person to drown in Pennypack Creek in the past 20 years. Just like those other victims, the creek took a beautiful boy's life way too soon. Although he is no longer with us, his memory will never be forgotten.
Right now, we need you help! We are asking for any donations to help pay for the expenses we owe, also start up projects that raise awareness about this terrible accident, & any projects/ activities in dedication to Sebastien. Any amount (no natter how big or small) would be greatly appreciated to help with these efforts!
