My name is Anna and I believe in human rights and actively empower others to have the best life they can.
I am the proud owner of a small women's owned business, Sea Side Fiber Arts, specializing in natural dyes for yarn from fiber animals and cellulose fibers. While slowly growing from a small business into a blooming business, I have been offered a remarkable opportunity to be able to help the local communities of women in the beautiful country of Guyana, S.A. So far, I have been to Guyana 3 separate times, each trip leaving me more confident for the next. The people of Guyana are familiar with English, which helps me communicate and help educate them in the creation of cellulose fibers, as well as helping them create a source of income and creativity for their own lives. I work with numerous people that are either associated with the arts and education Programs. The proceeds to this fund raiser will help purchase items and supplies for the local communities

Sea Side Fiber Arts mission: Is to conceive, coordinate and implement research programs. This activates, promotes training and education of researchers and makes available relevant information for management and general awareness. By perusing sustainable crafts, there will be ability to encourage young entrepreneurs that will create their own Caring Circular Economy. We are focused on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), to transfer our world into a using sustainable fashion.

The future is about becoming more environmentally sustainable, utilizing our surrounding environment and reducing our footprint. By supporting the revival and creation of art within communities, it brings the opportunity to improve lively hoods. By educating and empowering the communities, especially women and children, for a better future with career opportunities to expand freedoms for decades to come (SDG 4, 5, 8)

I have numerous craft materials ready to go to an Amerindian community
Looms and other art threads for the local orphanages, St. Anne's and St. Bernadette's. $1,000

Additional money will go to community out reach for sponsoring transportation or child care. Those 2 things in-particular should not hinder a person from earning a living wage or possible have their life changed by having a paying job with a decent wage to support a family.

Guyana produced just over 17 tons of banana and plantains this past year. That means that there is probably double that in waste from the banana sucker or the pseudo stem.

Focusing on Sustainability
Tibisiri is the dominate craft in Guyana which are made from palm leaves and twisted into beautiful products. I have started Fair Trade with numerous artisans in Georgetown as well as the interior of the Iwokrama Rain Forest.

When my team and I go to Guyana I look forward to introducing the Inkle Loom, which will introduce weaving to the communities. Such a simple craft has potential to bring in a steady stream of income due to there being many avenues of sales for small business owners. This item is amid towards younger adults and children. The Inkle loom is very easy to handle, so anyone can learn easily. The bands that are made can be stitched into bags, head bands, anything you can think of.
The amount of funds requested will be directed towards equipment, art supplies, travel to and from remote communities. Sea Side Fiber Arts and team of women's owned small business; want to support and empower women and children to succeed and rise above poverty that will improve their lives, and strengthen caring circular economy. We want to encourage multiple avenues of creativity, weaving, dyeing yarn, knitting and even pottery. Having the opportunity of having any type of art therapy, it will motivate and encourage self healing.
