Design Trip to the Netherlands

My name is Rachel Ivanoff.
I am currently a design major at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle Washington majoring in Visual Communication.

I’ve always enjoyed designing things and imagining strange saturated worlds of color and adventure. Drawing is an escape from reality for me. I love to travel, and seeing the world helps me reinterpret my experiences from adventures into sequential art, character art, and it just straight up broadens my horizons.  Now that I’m finally on my way to bringing those zany worlds flying around in my head to life professionally with a BFA degree, reality is telling me I can’t "financially" afford to take advantage of every opportunity that would help me to do that.

A trip to Netherlands is being offered to the design students at my school this year, to allow them to expand their minds, and to become extra aware of the dynamics of the design world. This trip is an incredible chance for me to study design through a hands on experience and I feel like I could really benefit from this trip if I pursue it. We will be touring studios, museums and schools, as well as meeting with prominent and influential designers. I know this experience will beef up my quality of craft and competence as a novice designer.

I am a student, I cannot afford this trip on my own.

In order to go to I need $2500.00

I’m a tough, hard working individual who is tremendously interested in developing my base knowledge in formal design, and by joining with others on this trip will allow me to learn and experience the design world outside of Washington state.

Trip Itinerary: 
Leave from Vancouver, Canada June 8th
Paris, France June 9th
Stay in Paris June 9th – 15th (6 nights)
Leave from Gare du Nord Train Station
Arrive in Amsterdam Centraa Train Station
Meet up with Amsterdam Cornish Group
Stay in The Hague June 15th – 22nd
June 22nd Flight from Amsterdam to Vancouver
June 22nd Arrive in Vancouver, Canada
Come home to Kennewick, WA later that day.
