While out enjoying one of her passions of mountain biking in the Aspen, Colorado area, Rachelle had a terrible accident and in one swift motion, she flew forward to a 5 feet drop off the trail and completly ruptured her patellar tendon. Rachelle was in a lot of pain yet courageously constructed a splint and hiked 2 miles on sand, slick rock and up a rocky trail, then another 2 miles riding her bike downhill to where she could then be transported to a hospital.
Rachelle recently had surgery on her knee which now disables her from being on her feet much, and she now finds herself out of work with no income. She has incurred tremendous medical expenses, as well as months of physical therapy expensese ahead.
We are asking that you please find it in your heart, especially during this season of giving, to donate to Rachelle and help lighten her burden. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will be a huge contribution for her. She is a beautiful soul who will be eternally grateful for any support given.
Thank you so very much!
You can see that her patella is a good inch or more higher than it should be.
Splint constructed from a camelback bladder, shorts, 2 pieces of wood and tape.
