A Cancer-Free Future for Rachelle
At only 31 years old, Rachelle Clugston Davis is facing her third potential scare with cancer and needs our support! Rachelle was recently diagnosed with a high grade squamos intraepithelial lesion on her cervix. This means that she has an extremely high risk of developing cervical cancer. Her doctors would like to do a laser ablation immediately to get rid of the cancerous cells. However, laser ablation is a costly procedure. Even after insurance coverage, Rachelle will still be required to pay a large amount up front in order to have the procedure. Rachelle and John are currently saving money as fast as possible for the procedure but the longer she waits, the higher the risk. Considering her history with this persistent disease, waiting should not have to be an option. In 2008, at only 27 years old, Rachelle was diagnosed with ductile carcinoma (the earliest form of breast cancer) and had surgery to remove her milk duct which successfully removed the cancer. But in 2009, because of additional concerns, she had another surgery to remove her second milk duct to help eliminate any further chance of breast cancer. Now, only three years later, her risk of developing cancer again is extremely high unless she has this procedure.
For those of you that do not know Rachelle, she is a life long friend of mine. We grew up together in Crandall, TX and have remained friends for almost 20 years; supporting each other through all of life's blessings and challenges. She is married to John Davis and they have 2 beautiful children, Blake and Brooklynn. I don't understand why Rachelle has been plagued with so much sickness at such a young age but I do understand the importance of helping a friend in need!
