Reshod K. Robinson Scholarship Fund

Sickle Cell is a global health dilemma where approximately 100,000 people in the United States are affected by this disease. Sickle Cell is a disease passed down genetically through families. With Sickle Cell, the red blood cells which are normally shaped like a disc take on a sickle or crescent shape. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body which is an important component in multiple molecular processes that allow the body to function. When the blood cells are irregularly shaped, this does not allow oxygen to be delivered throughout the body correctly causing the symptoms of Sickle Cell.
This disease has claimed the lives of many too soon. Reshod K. Robinson is one of those people. Reshod K. Robinson was a strong advocate of education and its importance. He believed that through dedication, determination and discipline the impossible could be achieved. The Reshod K. Robinson Scholarship was founded in his memory to continue what he intensely believed in:Education. The Reshod K. Robinson Scholarship would appreciate a charitable, monetary gift of any amount to help us invest in the future of a college student who has Sickle Cell, who exemplifies dedication, determination and discipline to receive their college diploma.
