Help create Rose City Trombones Community Mutes

Rose City Trombones of Portland, Oregon gives back in the communities where we live and perform. We will recycle unused trombone mutes and distribute them to muteless musicians in the area.

As a performer, mutes can represent a significant expense. Yet they are only called for in small sections of the performance repertoire. Many experienced musicians hold on to old, dented mutes because they have no where to take them (and throwing them away seems like such a waste!). RCT will clean, restore corks, replace worn felt, remove dents as possible. Each mute will be labeled with a unique number. And then donated. There is no expectation of return. We just ask that the mute be passed on to another deserving musician.

You can help. Donate your unwanted trombone mutes. If you are in the Portland area, we will come pick them up . GoFundMe contributions will be used to purchase repair supplies and used mutes on ebay, facebook marketplace, craigslist, etc.

Mutes can be tracked by recepients via www.RoseCityTrombones.com (inspired by the WheresGeorge tracking tools for dollar bills).
