Rick Byers - Cancer - Exit Stage 4!

Those of you that know me, KNOW that I seldom share my personal life with others as I am a relatively private person when it comes to family. I have the nickname "Bubba" because I am everyone's "older brother" and often put what I want/need on the back burner to ensure others are taken care of. I try day in and day out to move mountains for others. This time though we just can't do it alone....I/WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
My father's name is Rick Byers. He is not only the patriarch of our family, he is a brother, a father, an uncle, husband a small business owner, and a selfless human being. His world revolves around my mom Donna Byers. He would do ANYTHING for her and has. For 30+ years he has cooked, cleaned, run a business, maintained her health, and has put off his own health to make sure hers and his family's lives came first. While my family has never been wealthy, he has ALWAYS made sure we had what we needed before he did anything for himself. To this day, I cannot figure out how he has done it for all these years, but man oh man have I been glad that he did.
Two weeks ago he was sent to the doctor because his eyes and skin were "yellowish." This started a chain reaction of tests that determined my father has stage 4 colon cancer that has matastisized to his liver. His liver is no longer functioning as it is covered by more than 90% cancerous cells. As a result of his liver not functioning, his kidneys have shut down as well. They are currently functioning at less than 10 %, when they SHOULD be above 90 % normally.
Last Thursday my father was rushed to the emergency room via ambulance because he was non-responsive, and could not communicate verbally. As we have been in the hospital ICU/Critical care and now Oncology floor for four days straight...we have seen a myriad of doctors, and they have all confirmed that we have one heck of a fight on our hands. The cannot perform ANY chemotherapy or radiation until they can get the kidneys to function again, so we are attempting dialysis to flush his system. As the days go on, the bills are already beginning to sky rocket.
Those of you that know me, KNOW that my family hates to ask for help...ever...for ANYTHING. We are a prideful bunch, but the bottom line is we just can't do it this time without your help. So here I sit, grasping at straws, ready to cash in any/all favors I may have out there...ready to be indebted to the wonderful people in my life...all to save my daddy's life and help my mom refrain from having a nervous breakdown in the process as she learns to do the things that he has done on her behalf for more than 30 years.
Any and all funds donated will be used to combat his cancer in any way we can. As they continue to do testing and come up with ways to beat this.
